Let The Old Star Fox Lie
Has it really been ten years? A whole decade since the last Star Fox game was inflicted upon the masses. I’ve seen people on social media actually celebrating the 10th anniversary of that game. Something about Fox being in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie reignited something in me. A desire to write about video games. Specifically about the Star Fox…

The Switch 2 needs a mascot – I offer Linkle as Tribute
Most Nintendo consoles have had official or unofficial mascots. Captain Falcon, a more muscular, futuristic man than Mario could ever be, initially was created to represent the Super Famicom/SNES, with his colors intended to match the console’s Japanese controller’s buttons. The Wii came into this world bearing the visage of a whole new lifeform – the Mii – things that…

The Nintendo Switch 2 Experience had us thirsty for Donkey Kong and also water
There was larger emphasis on rules and regulations outside the Switch 2 Experience venue than inside. As I walked into the Television City parking lot, I had to show my ID twice and the QR code Nintendo sent me at least seven times in the weeks after I got picked to attend the event just to get to the front…

The Switch 2 is coming! And these games might be there for launch
Many are gearing up for 2025 to be the worst year of their lives, but for a number of wide-eyed nerds out there, the pending announcement of a new Nintendo console has latched onto their future orientation like a benign parasite, taking up any space where pessimism would otherwise reside.

Review – F-Zero GX
I remember being extremely amped for the release of F-Zero GX in 2003. Thankfully, this was one instance where, when I finally got my hands on it, it was everything I hoped for. Returning to it all these years later, is it all I remember it to be. Yes. Very yes.

Review – Star Fox
Star Fox and me, we go way back. I played it when I was very young, and I didn't care about the polygonal 3D graphics. At this point, its technologically antiquated, but that doesn't mean there isn't any value in playing it today.

Review – Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Star Wars and I have a rocky relationship. Had, I should say, it's over now. But back in the day, I was all about that galaxy far, far away. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader hit before disillusionment set in, but how will I look on it today?

Review – Goldeneye 007 (N64)
Goldeneye 007 is a certifiable classic. It was a phenomenon back when it released. However, for all the things it did extremely well, a lot of it hasn't aged favourably. If any game needs an HD remaster, it's this one. Unfortunately, it looks like we just barely missed out on one.

Review – Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I've got a history with Animal Crossing going way back to the GameCube era. A new one arrived just in time for Covid lockdowns, which was pretty serendipitous. But can it live up to previous games in the series? No. When I ask that question, it usually means no.

Review – Luigi’s Mansion 3
I’ve always been a fan of Luigi. Ever since his high jumps nearly broke Super Mario Bros. 2. When I’d play Super Mario World alone, I’d start a two-player mode and kill off Mario so I could just play as Luigi. So, golly, I was so on board with Luigi’s Mansion back when it dropped alongside the Gamecube in 2001.…
