In the great war between IP holders, the only people who are safe are those who achieve viral popularity and when it comes to blatantly grabbing assets and reworking them into a new artistic expression, none are greater than DafuqBoom, AKA Alexey Gerasimov, creator of the Skibidi Toilet series of videos. Borrowing assets from Garry’s Mod and a plethora of copyrighted music, he’s created a viral sensation of toilets with human heads coming out of them fighting against camera headed individuals that took the world by force in 2023 and 2024. Now on the decline, what could be next for this mishmash of legally dubious cartoons that are falling out of fashion? Only time will tell.
