Raiden Fighters Remix Collection recollects three games I should have probably played by now

Raiden is one of my favourite scrolling shoot-’em-ups of all time. Absolute top shelf. So, it’s a bit weird that I haven’t played the Raiden Fighters spin-offs. Chalk that up to the fact that the only recent port of them was the 2015 Raiden Legacy collection, which I’ve been warned away from. I respect Dotemu, but, by many accounts, it’s not their best port job.

Thankfully, H2 Interactive and MOSS are going to be taking a swing at it with Raiden Fighters Remix Collection, and hopefully I didn’t just jinx it.

The collection looks to be console only right now, and it brings together Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet. On top of that, it includes a remixed soundtrack (hence the name) by Soshi Hosoi, Yuki Arai, and Kazushi Tsurukubo, who are all notable for – among other things, the Raiden IV x Mikado Remix soundtrack.

Beyond that, there are quality-of-life options, mostly with regard to toning down the difficulty. Both the Japanese and international versions of the games are included. The presser also mentions “refreshed visuals,” and I don’t know what that means. It’s still the same pixel art. Which, to be clear, I prefer over redone art or whatever, I’m just not sure why it’s mentioned.

Raiden Fighters Remix Collection releases February 26, 2026 on PS4, PS5, and Switch. There is no mention of a PC version, which I assume is due to the presence of Raiden Legacy. There’s also a physical release for it, and you can buy the games separately or as a collection.

Zoey made up for her mundane childhood by playing video games. Now she won't shut up about them. Her eclectic tastes have worried many. Don't come to close, or she'll shove some weird indie or retro game in your face. It's better to not make eye contact. Cross the street if you see her coming.
