Maximum Utcast – 03 – Crazy Artificial Dreams of Donkey Kong and Mina the Hollower

Maximum Utcast is the flagship podcast for this blog where Zoey and Jonathan talk about videogame news and opinions in a free-wheeling format. Regular segments include discussion of kusoge as well as interviews with people involved in videogames from news writers and game developers to enthusiasts.

We pre-taped this episode so Daniel could skip town for a few days which meant we did one entirely without Jonathan–but fear not! We have an overstuffed episode with representatives from all parts of the animal kingdom, from the mighty Crazy Frog to the lowly Solid Snake as well as the tricky Donkey Kong and the strange Earthworm Jim. We maybe get to the bottom of who killed the Noid, and also talk a little bit about Rugrats. A Shy Fox stops by to give his thoughts on few recent game demos (Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and Mina the Hollower) and we even get 2 kusoges for the price of one…it’s a deal you can’t beat!

Daniel is a podcast producer and musician who spends way too much time in the edit to make audio sound as good as possible. He’s cutting the “umms” and “uhhhs” and replacing them with cartoon sound effects. His taste in video games is often extremely specific, and he’s recently learned that a lot of his opinions about video games are bad and wrong, but that won’t stop him from having them. His music was featured in Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons. He's been producing podcasts since 2021.
