Review – Cult of the Lamb

Not only will you get a review of Cult of the Lamb, you'll also get to hear about my family's adjacency and weird run in with an actual scary cult, the Ant Hill Kids. I'm not sure that many critics out there could really provide you with that perspective.

    Review – Turok

If you were there for the early days of the N64, it was hard to miss Turok. The first-person shooter was still relatively new, and one that was all polygons? Even newer. There isn't much else to play, there's a dinosaur on the cover; welcome to Turok.

    Review – La-Mulana

Completing La-Mulana without a guide is a feat of strength. That's probably why I couldn't do it. After an unsuccessful run some years ago, I tried again on another console and with a begrudged willingness to get outside help. It went a lot better this time.

    Review – River City Girls

I like River City Ransom. I'm a girl. Get me on that bus. While River City Girls doesn't adopt the log-arms of the Nekketsu/Kunio-Kun/Downtown/River City series, it does have a significant amount of colour and charm to make up for it. I'm just of the opinion that it doesn't play quite as well.

    Dating Adzuken – Nicole

I really wasn't expecting anything to top Iris School of Wizardry in dark turns, but somehow Nicole found a way. I'm not new to having a game make me feel uncomfortable, but it's always unfortunate when it happens. I don't even think it was intentional with Nicole, it just happened.

    Review – Game Dev Story

I don’t know what to think of Kairosoft anymore. I once saw them as a developer that was so cohesive they basically carved out their own niche for themselves on mobile platforms. Their games were similar, built on the same addictive formula. Presented in the same art-style and containing the same personality. Kairosoft was comfort food. Things have changed since…

    Review – 198X

I am, if nothing else, very sentimental about video games. A lot of my memories are interlocked with the games I was playing at the time and the simple mention of certain titles can trigger feelings from times gone by. I’ve always devoted a portion of myself to my favourite hobby, so I’m often introspective about it. I was too…
