    Review – Suikoden I HD

    Patrick Hancock / May 4, 2025 / 5 Comments

I have no nostalgia for Suikoden. I grew up hearing it was a good game (or, really, its sequel), so I was very intrigued at the idea of jumping into an HD remaster. The Suikoden games have quite the legacy behind them (even more so if you follow Aidan Moher on social media), but I never knew how much of…

    Review – Clock Tower: Rewind

    Zoey Handley / November 30, 2024 / No Comments

It's nice to have an official release of Clock Tower. I was hyped, but slept on its initial re-release. Having circled back around, I can finally scratch this classic Japanese horror title off my list. I really hate writing these excerpts because I don't know what information will get you to click.

    Review – Vigilante 8

    Zoey Handley / November 20, 2024 / No Comments

After Twisted Metal 2, the series went into a nosedive with the departure of Singletrac. There was no one to where the car combat crown. That is until Luxoflux stepped up with Vigilante 8, a game that is a lot like Twisted Metal but funkier and with dumber objectives.

    Review – Road Rash (32-Bit)

    Zoey Handley / November 13, 2024 / No Comments

I first played Road Rash (32-Bit) on 3DO Interactive Multiplayer where it stuck with me. As far as Road Rash games go, this is probably the best in the series (if you don't count Road Rash 64, but why would you?). It's also incredibly '90s, which is essentially my comfort food.

Review – Army Men: World War: Final Front

    Zoey Handley / March 24, 2024 / No Comments

I'm still reeling from the punishment inflicted by Land Sea Air. However, I still had faith in the World War sub-series of Army Men. Thankfully, Final Front isn't nearly as bad as LSA, but that bar was set pretty low. Weirdly, this isn't actually the final game in the series.

Review – Army Men: Air Attack 2 (PS1)

    Zoey Handley / March 16, 2024 / No Comments

Whenever I mention my interest in the Army Men series to anyone "normal" they often mention that they liked the helicopter one. But despite the anecdotal evidence that Air Attack is the favorite, I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who has played Air Attack 2. I wonder why.

Review – Army Men: Air Attack (Air Combat)

    Zoey Handley / August 24, 2022 / No Comments

If someone tells me that there was a game in the Army Men series that they liked, I know it was probably this one. Air Attack borrows heavily from EA's Strike series, while transplanting it to a world of plastic soldiers. It's over pretty quickly, but it's still worth playing.

Review – Rampage 2: Universal Tour

    Zoey Handley / January 29, 2021 / No Comments

It's sometimes the small things that make a sequel so much better than the original. Take Rampage 2, for example. Simply changing it so that lives actually have meaning and you can't just continue indefinitely makes the experience feel a lot more satisfying. Plus, you can still eat people off of toilets.

Review – Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012

    Zoey Handley / September 28, 2020 / No Comments

When the Gods of Quality forsook the Twisted Metal series, others attempted to take up the torch. One was Rogue Trip, a game by the original developers of the Twisted Metal series. But rather than do Twisted Metal but-a-bit-different, they instead decided to try something new. And new it is.

    Review – Twisted Metal 4

    Zoey Handley / September 22, 2020 / No Comments

Ugh, gosh. Are we at Twisted Metal Black yet? 989 Studios wasn't necessarily a bad choice to hand the series off to, but it's obvious they weren't a very good fit. Their first contribution to the series wasn't very good, and, guess what, Twisted Metal 4 isn't great either.
