The Spin-Off Doctors Spin-Off (sometimes just called Spin-Offs for brevity) is a podcast that analyzes media spun off from videogames. While the show usually focuses on film and TV adaptations, occasionally books are discussed. The show is often irreverent but never aims for a mean-spirited take. The pilot episode of the Spin-Off Doctors Spin-Off enthralls us with 2008’s CGI Resident Evil movie tie-in, Resident Evil: Degeneration. Set canonically within the same universe as the games…maybe…we find out what happens 7 years after the events of Racoon City. Euan is our seasoned veteran guide and Daniel is our hapless newbie as we’re introduced to a goblin-faced senator, a silver-fox scientist, a brother and sister duo, and a slew of other new characters who we will never see again in universe. We’re also given another team up of Claire and Leon, and there’s zombies infected galore!

Daniel is a podcast producer and musician who spends way too much time in the edit to make audio sound as good as possible. He’s cutting the “umms” and “uhhhs” and replacing them with cartoon sound effects. His taste in video games is often extremely specific, and he’s recently learned that a lot of his opinions about video games are bad and wrong, but that won’t stop him from having them.
