Review – Army Men: World War: Land Sea Air
Years after writing this review, I had convinced myself that I accidentally played Land Sea Air on hard mode and wasn't able to change it back. So, I tried it again, making sure it was on Medium. Nope, this game really is so unfair that it's painful to play.

Review – Army Men: Sarge’s War
I'm kind of proud of this one, as I recognized the artistic intent behind Army Men: Sarge's War. I felt that it acted as an intention to end the series as it was passed from the bankrupt 3DO to Global Star. I talked to creative director Michael Mendheim later who confirmed it.

Review – Army Men: Toys in Space
Released the same year as Army Men II on PC, but far worse Toys in Space is an early indication of the where the series was headed. While it seemed like Army Men II had refined the 2D PC formula, Army Men: Toys in Space fumbled it pretty hard.

Review – Army Men 2 (GBC)
Digital Eclipse followed up their Game Boy Color sort-of port of the first Army Men with a sort-of port of Army Men 2. Only this time, it's even more distinctly its own game. It doesn't so much try to replicate the PC title, but rather fit its themes on GBC.

Review – Army Men (GBC)
The tendrils of the Army Men series sprawled their way to the Game Boy, starting with a port of the original on the Color. Well, "port" might be being a bit generous, but Digital Eclipse did a decent job at moving it over to less powerful hardware.

Review – Army Men II (PC)
1999 was probably the best year for the Army Men series before it was buried under a deluge of hastily developed titles. Army Men II was among the games released that year, and while I wasn't hot on the first title, Army Men II makes some substantial improvements.

Global Star tried to reboot the Army Men series more than once, and it never went well. I'm not sure what they were really thinking with Soldiers of Misfortune. Did they think they'd get a new series out of this? Maybe they just wanted to cash in on the name.

Review – Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2 (PS2)
Army Men Sarge's Heroes 2 on the N64 was a few steps away from being a great thing, but then veered off course and landed in Sucksville. However, there was a PS2 version, so maybe it fixes the flaws. Nah, it would take more than extra horsepower to fix this.

Review – Army Men: World War (PS1)
Yeah, Army Men: World War. All those other times? The world wasn't at war. This time, it's the whole world. Okay, the nomentclature is actually referring to the fact that it mixes modern Army Men with WWII-like battlefields. This may surprise you, but the result has its merits.

Review – Portal Runner (PS2)
Portal Runner is a pretty infamous game in the Army Men series. You could almost say that this is where it jumped the shark, but that isn't quite true. There were worse games than Portal Runner released before and better games released after. This is more like the beginning of the end.
